Biography
Bhagvat G. Patel, MPH, grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where he developed an early interest in science, healthcare, leadership, and community involvement. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Capital University, with a minor in Religious Studies. He then pursued a Master of Public Health degree at Cornell University, concentrating in Infectious Disease Epidemiology and One Health. During his time at Cornell, he worked on projects related to infectious disease surveillance, antimicrobial stewardship, population health, and improving healthcare systems, while gaining an appreciation for the connections between research, clinical care, and public health practice.
Throughout his academic and professional experiences, Bhagvat has worked across research, administrative, and public health settings. His work has included public health research, business operations, and initiatives focused on improving organizational effectiveness and population health outcomes. These experiences helped shape his interest in understanding not only how health outcomes are influenced at the individual level, but also how institutions, policies, and systems can work together to improve the health and well-being of entire communities.
Bhagvat is particularly passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and believes that many of today's most complex healthcare challenges require perspectives from multiple fields. His professional interests include public health, healthcare administration, healthcare operations, strategic planning, and health systems improvement. He is especially interested in how organizations can use data, research, and operational strategy to improve efficiency, strengthen collaboration, and create meaningful improvements in patient care and population health. Bhagvat is passionate about bridging the gap between scientific discovery and real-world implementation, ensuring that innovative ideas and research findings can be translated into sustainable and impactful solutions.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Bhagvat enjoys traveling, photography, videography, design, and film production. He has a strong appreciation for creative storytelling and the ways visual media can be used to educate, inspire, and connect people. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends and remains actively involved in community and youth programs through his local temple, where he helps organize educational, cultural, and service-oriented initiatives. Through both his professional and personal endeavors, Bhagvat is committed to lifelong learning, service, and making a positive impact on the communities he serves.
