The Ohio State University College of Medicine has recognized the collaborative work of Jennifer Bechtel and Morgan Angles to reshape perceptions of aging and improve understanding of dementia.
Their partnership brings together the Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology and the Golden Buckeye Center for Dementia Caregiving. Through education and hands-on simulation, they help health care professionals better understand challenges associated with aging and dementia while building skills to support patients, families and care partners.
The feature highlights a recent training session that combined dementia care resources, communication strategies and experiential learning to encourage more empathetic, person-centered care.
